Full Roof Replacements
Removal of Old Roof
When we replace a roof, we tear off all of the old, all the way down to the decking. A new roof needs to be built on a strong structure. The best way to do that is to get all the way down to the wood and ensure there are no bad spots.
Replacing a roof is more than just throwing shingles up there. A roof protects your home, protects your family. It’s important. Our goal is to replace your roof with better material and craftmanship than your previous roof. You deserve peace of mind.
Underlayment
When re-installing the roof, we start with a synthetic underlayment, providing moisture protection over the entire roof. We install extra protection around every penetration and in every valley, with a self-adhering ice and water barrier.
Shingles
When it comes to the shingles, we do not install anything beneath a Class 3 architectural shingle. These shingles are rated to withstand up to 1.75in hail and winds up to 130mph.
Perimeter
We install thick 2x2 drip edge around the entire perimeter of the roof to keep water from running down your fascia and rotting it. On top of that, we install a starter strip before installing shingles. This fortifies the entire roof and keeps wind from creeping in underneath.
Ridge Cap
The final touch is the ridge cap. A lot of companies use cut 3 tab shingles to make ridge cap. We use actual ridge cap shingles that are also rated at a Class 3 so your roof is 100% protected.
The Malarkey Touch…..
Our preferred shingle manufacturer is Malarkey Roofing Products, a trusted industry leader since 1956. Malarkey has consistently set the standard for innovation, particularly with their NEX® Polymer Modified Asphalt—a superior material that outperforms traditional shingles in nearly every category.
Most standard shingles are made with oxidized asphalt, an outdated technology that relies on extreme heat and oxygen to harden asphalt. This process, much like overbaking a cookie, dries out the asphalt's natural oils, making the shingles brittle over time. As a result, they’re more likely to crack, lose granules, and wear out prematurely.
Malarkey took a different approach by pioneering Polymer Modified Asphalt. Their NEX® formula blends high-grade asphalt with SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) rubber and plastic polymers. This rubberization process retains asphalt’s natural flexibility and stickiness, giving shingles greater durability, impact resistance, and long-term performance.
Additionally, Malarkey uses a similar innovation in their shingle adhesive. By blending asphalt with SEBS (Styrene-Ethylene-Butylene-Styrene) polymers, they create an adhesive that is both extremely sticky and flexible. This enhanced grip not only helps shingles stay tightly sealed together, but also improves their resistance to separation, cracking, and thermal stress over time.
The result is a stronger, longer-lasting shingle that stands up better to wind, hail, and the harsh conditions your roof faces year-round. That’s why we trust Malarkey to protect your home.
